the core.thread class should have some mechanism for pausing or resuming threads or alternately should expose the OS thread handles so we can use OS specific thread functions (Not Advised) on windows it would be a wrapper for suspendthread and ResumeThread however on POSIX you would have to implement your own mechanism for doing so as pthread doesn't provide any such mechanism.
