I have already tried and appreciated lockstep() (and few successive updates): http://www.dsource.org/projects/phobos/changeset/1871 But I'd like lockstep() and zip() to have their names swapped, because I think the current lockstep() is more commonly useful in my code, so it's better to give it the shorter name.

Well, short names are good, but I find lockstep() to be far more descriptive, and zip() does not make me think of what lockstep() does at all. So, personally, I'd prefer to keep the name lockstep(), but I understand why you'd want to change it.

Wontfix because I think it's better to just deprecate and then remove lockstep(), as discussed in Issue 8155
