I think this has been misdiagnosed as a rdmd issue a while bag. Consider: dmd -v -o- doesnotexist.d >doesnotexist.deps This command produces no stderr traffic and writes to doesnotexist.deps the following: binary dmd version v2.053 config /home/andrei/dmd.conf parse doesnotexist Error: cannot read file doesnotexist.d The last line should be printed to stderr.

Seems to have been fixed (in v2.061 or earlier).
